EXCERPT: The study does not speculate as to why non-religious individuals tend to be more supportive than those who belong to a specific belief system. In my opinion, the greater willingness to accept and show support stems from not having to shed dogma-based beliefs that some forms of gender identity / sexuality are “wrong” vs “right.”
